Project Description

Bank Station Capacity Upgrade: Transforming London's Transport Hub: Dragados

The Bank Station Capacity Upgrade, led by Dragados, marks a pivotal transformation of one of London's busiest transport hubs. The comprehensive project involves excavating and constructing a new underground tunnel, platforms, escalator tunnels, a moving walkway, cross passage, and a station entrance on Cannon Street. Spread across multiple work sites, the upgrade aims to significantly enhance Bank Station's capacity, reduce journey times, and alleviate congestion on the Northern Line, Central Line, DLR, and interchange areas within the Bank/Monument station complex.

MSS has been entrusted with the complete site security package for this dynamic project. The scope of work encompasses a holistic security management service across three live construction sites. MSS's security manager actively engages in formal weekly and monthly meetings with the Dragados project manager, ensuring seamless coordination.

The security system includes robust access control and passes, integrating a dual card and biometric system across the entire project and individual worksites. MSS's electronic access control system features both full and half-height biometric turnstiles, reinforcing security measures.

CCTV surveillance is a cornerstone of MSS's contributions, strategically positioning cameras to monitor vulnerable site perimeters, vehicle movements, and personnel flow. The real-time monitoring, data logging, and information storage arrangements were collaboratively proposed and agreed upon by MSS and the project team.

MSS takes charge of the provision and management of manned security officers throughout the project, emphasizing a commitment to ensuring the safety and security of this transformative undertaking in the heart of London's transportation network.
