Empowering our teams through tailored CLOCS training
The SATM programme has been developed by CLOCS (Construction Logistics and Community Safety), the national standard for managing work-related road risk. CLOCS was established to improve the safety of vulnerable road users, reduce the risks posed by construction traffic, and promote more responsible site access management. The standard is now recognised across the UK as a benchmark for excellence in construction logistics.
Applying CLOCS standards on site
Through the programme, our staff gained the knowledge, skills and confidence to apply CLOCS standards at the gate. This means safer vehicle movements in and out of site, clearer communication with drivers, and greater awareness of how logistics impacts both our workforce and the surrounding communities.
Our Director of Operations, Jose Mattos, underlined the importance of this investment:
“We are investing in our teams by delivering CLOCS training, reinforcing our commitment to safety, compliance and best practice.”
A bespoke approach to upskilling
Unlike standard SATM training, which is usually delivered to one or two trainers, this bespoke session was designed for a larger group. This approach enabled us to upskill more members of our team, embedding CLOCS knowledge and best practice across a wider part of our operations. By building this capacity internally, we are able to maintain a consistent approach to logistics safety across multiple sites and projects.
Putting CLOCS at the heart of our operations
CLOCS is central to how we operate as a business. It reflects a shared responsibility across the industry to protect not only our staff, but also road users, cyclists, pedestrians and local residents impacted by construction traffic. By aligning with CLOCS, we are helping to raise standards across the sector while contributing to safer communities in which our projects take place.
Jose added:
“CLOCS is essential for improving construction logistics and traffic management, helping us protect both our workforce and the communities where we operate. By equipping our people with the right knowledge, we ensure we stay compliant while driving safer and smarter ways of working across our projects.”
Building a culture of safety and compliance across our group
By investing in training, embracing CLOCS standards, and working collaboratively across our Group, we are building a stronger culture of safety and compliance. This not only benefits our workforce and clients, but also the communities and environments in which we operate.
